The Body Shop Vitamin E New Releases – Lotion & Essence

I squealed with excitement in London when I got to pick up the Body Shop’s new Vitamin E products, the Vitamin E Day Lotion SPF30 and the Vitamin E Aqua Boost Essence Lotion. They were released in the UK during May and I got a chance to pick them up and try them out before the UAE launch in Dubai, exciting when you’re an avid Body Shop fan 😉

The Vitamin E range has got to be my favourite of all Body Shop’s ranges. It suits all skin types, protects against pollutants, UV rays, smells AMAZING, and, did I mention the packaging is pink?! Tick tick tick. There are so many products in the range there’s something for everyone, Mum and I both love it.

First up, the Vitamin E Day Lotion. Hurrah, finally a lightweight consistency to combine with the Vitamin E Body Butter on the body. This totally lightweight formula is a dream to apply on the skin. It has a beautiful silky feel thats absorbed instantly. Like with all Vitamin E products, it can be used for all skin types, although I think those with oily skin or normal skin would appreciate it much more given the lightweight consistency. The summer months in Dubai for me means easier products and nothing too heavy on the skin (same goes for foundation, hello BB creams). But, if you prefer your thicker creams or have very dry skin, this probably isn’t the one for you.

The Body Shop Vitamin E

The packaging comes in the iconic baby pink colour and a slick, slim tube. Its 50ml worth of product retailing currently in the UK for £14, roughly AED80. It protects against UVA and UVB with an SPF of 30 which would be (in my opinion) the lowest factor I’d wear out and about in the sun (I would say a 0-15 is perfectly fine when you’re indoors).

Next is the Vitamin E Aqua Boost Essence Lotion. I’ve been reading and hearing so many women complaining about this, and that’s not because the product isn’t great, it’s because so many women are confusing this with a moisturiser because of it’s name. In this case, the “lotion” is in fact aimed to be used as a toner, not a lotion / moituriser, per se. Anyway, it’s far too liquidy for a moisturiser, but a nice thick consistency for a toner.

Aimed to be used after cleaning, the Aqua Boost Essence plumps and smoothens the skin. Along with the Day Lotion, it contains a dose of hyaluronic acid, so it’s going to do wonders for keeping your skin supple. On me it feels amazingly refreshing, I use it day and night, taking a few drops on a cotton pad and gliding over my face and neck after cleansing. My skin feels extra clean (not dry) and I enjoy the classic Vitamin E scent. It absorbs within a minute so you have no fuss or waiting time before going in and applying your next product, whether that’s your serum or moisturiser. The Aqua Essence Lotion retails for £9.50 in the UK for 160ml, roughly AED55 in the UAE, this one is my personal favourite, I can see it becoming a bestseller for the Body Shop I’m sure.

If you’re already a fan of the Vitamin E range from the Body Shop you’ll love this news and I’m sure you’ll love the new products. Go and give them a try, you won’t be disappointed!

Love, Anisha xox
