The Bale Nusa Dua Review (A no kids retreat)

Our Couple’s Getaway at The Bale – Bali, Indonesia

We spent 5 relaxing days at The Bale in Nusa Dua, Bali. It’s a 5 star boutique (no children) retreat with just 29 villas. Don’t let the “boutique” fool you, the villas are spaced apart and the whole retreat is a good, medium size to walk around in.

Each of the 29 villas have their own private pool and modern accessories. What I liked about the whole resort was the immaculately clean and contemporary, all white and wooden architecture with tiled floors. The whole place was kept spotless. There’s a clear (but still somewhat subtle) focus on Balinese monuments and water features around the retreat, the sound of the water makes your time really blissful. The pool area is also stunning, there are outdoor cabanas and showers for you to lounge and soak off in.

The villas come in 3 different concepts, single, double and single deluxe pavilions. We had the Single Deluxe. It was a huge villa with a spacious bedroom, closet area, small kitchen/appliances space, a huge bath tub, indoor and outdoor shower as well as a walk way with 3 steps directly from your bathroom in to your very own plunge pool, this place just absolutely took our breath away. The villa was just so beautiful you don’t need to leave!

The Bale Nusa Dua

The Bale has a couple of restaurants for you to choose from and a bar. It’s also really conveniently located for you to walk out and have a wonder or eat elsewhere. We loved breakfast and other meals at The Faces restaurant and drinks and snacks at the Fluid bar.

The icing on the cake has to be the 5* service from every single member of staff. The family owners (who greeted us personally), the receptionists, the driver, the waiters to the gardeners, everyone was just so polite, welcoming and helpful. Everyone went above and beyond to greet and serve us and that made our stay just so much more welcoming, we really did not want to leave.

I’ll definitely be going back to The Bale at some point in life and recommending it to everyone looking for a relaxing, welcoming, clean, beautiful stay in Nusa Dua.
