London Beauty Haul – Skincare & Makeup

I’ve been back and forth to London from Dubai a lot recently and what better chance than to stock up on some beauty favourites as well as pick up some newbies! If you read my latest haul from London (here) you’ll know I already picked up some make up and skincare. This time round I’ve done it again, I’ve bought more makeup, this time mainly from Charlotte Tilbury, as well as a whole bunch of skincare so let’s get straight in to it.

Skincare wise, I bought a couple of old favourites and some new products to try. First up are cleansers. If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram (both @AnishaDBeauty) you’ll know I often rave or post about The Body Shop’s Silky Cleansing Oil. This stuff just works miracles and believe it or not, this is actually now my 4th bottle! I’m totally addicted. I’ve been using this in the morning before a second cleanse and in the evening to remove make up, again before a second cleanse. I like using it as a first step and then going back in with a cream or a balm cleanser. In the evenings, it removes makeup amazingly well, every last trace, even stubborn waterproof mascara. It’s also available in Dubai but as I was home I picked one up in London too. They retail for around AED 75 and £10 in the UK which actually works out cheaper too. I think they’ve put the prices up in Dubai as previously I’d bought bottles for AED 55.

Sticking with cleansers, I picked up another Cleanse & Polish from Liz Earle. I used to use this years ago and not really sure how and why I stopped using it! In fact I also picked up a couple for my hubby, you can buy a set of the cleanser and the muslin cloth together and it comes in a great pouch perfect for keeping clean and for travelling with. The Cleanse & Polish does contain essential oils which you need to be wary of if you know your skin doesn’t agree with essential oils. For many, this is perfectly fine including me. It leaves my skin smooth and refreshed and I really enjoy using it.

I’m almost out of my beloved Clarins Multi Active Day Cream, a moisturiser I’ve been using for probably about 6 months now. Although it’s a great product, being a self-confessed skincare junkie I wanted to try out something new. I picked up the Double Rose Ultra face cream from The Organic Pharmacy. I don’t think this product is available in the UAE but it is very popular in the UK and US. As the name suggests, a totally organic (but again contains essential oils) moisturiser. This one is aimed at dry and dehydrated skin, it smells SO good, I definitely have a thing for rose skincare as my Clarins MADC was also rose scented. I’ll keep you updated on this one & follow up with a full review.

Also for moisturising but for use as a primer, I bought Bobbi Brown’s Vitamin Enriched Face Base. It contains Shea Butter, Vitamins C & E and is aimed to smoothen out the skin making it ideal for make up application whilst also being packed with skin loving ingredients. I’d be keen to see if anyone has tried this?

Sticking to skincare, I was so happy to go and visit the brand new Lush HQ on Oxford Street, if you haven’t been and are in London, seriously go check that place out, the biggest Lush in the world! Some photos for you here.

I also picked up another candle from Neom, I wrote a post about all my latest candles here where I also feature Neom’s Serenity (here). This time I’ve picked up “Complete Bliss” which guess what, contains rose! As well as Lime and Black Pepper. Such an unusual but gorgeous scent.

Make up wise, I bought a foundation, powder and contour, highlight products from Charlotte Tilbury, all amazingly packaged rose gold beauties. It’s so good, I’ve dedicated a whole Charlotte Tilbury Haul post to it here, so go check that out (here).

Another cheeky purchase was the Tom Ford cream foundation brush. This was a total splurge and I probably really didn’t need to buy it (It comes in at £58, around AED 340). Aimed to seamlessly and easily apply cream foundation. I’m afraid this one might be a “too pretty to use”, eek.

So that’s it for this latest haul, I’ll let you know how I get on with the newbies 🙂

Love, Anisha xox
