I’ve found myself finishing and ordering more of my favourite beauty products through out January, products that are a clear winner for me when it comes to either skincare or body care.
2 products I’ve found myself loving for skin care are in fact 2 cleansers. One is the Body Shop’s Silky Cleansing Oil, and the other is the trusty Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm. I absolutely adore both cleansers and for different reasons. The Silky Cleansing Oil by The Body Shop has become a firm favourite alongside my trusty Dermalogica Pre Cleanse. It just gets the job done. I use this to remove my make up and as a “first cleanse”.
That brings me on to Emma Hardie’s Moringa Cleansing Balm. I’m sure a lot of you will have heard of this gem. It’s a luxurious balm that melts in to a devine, thick oil that works great for me as an evening cleanse. In fact the “second cleanse” after I’ve use the Silky Cleansing Oil from The Body Shop.
Keeping to skincare, I’ve recently just repurchased another tub of Clarins’ Multi Active Day Cream. It was in fact my mother in law that suggested I try this out a few years ago. After trying it the first time, I swayed to other moisturisers in between but have recently come full circle and realise how much I enjoy using this moisturiser. It leaves my skin feeling really smooth, has so many great healing benefits (esp preventing early wrinkles) and it smells rose-like and fresh.
My next repurchase this month is a body scrub. It’s by Garnier and is called the Smoothing Sugar Scrub. This product is, in my opinion, is far too under-rated. I’ve used soooo many body scrubs and must admit there are some great ones in the market. However, I always have a tube of this in my bathroom as my back up and will always go back to it. Perhaps because it’s the first body scrub I owned and is affordable and widely available from the drugstore, often very frequently on offer in Boots or Superdrug too. It’s a simple scrub and a little goes a long way. You really feel it getting to work in the shower and smoothing the skin. If you’re not in to gritty scrubs then this may not be for you. For me, I like that gritty, scrub feel on my body (not my face) and this is another product that gets the job done. It leaves your skin feeling soft, smooth and exfoliated in the shower. It doesn’t smell luxurious, girly or too strong at all but has a really gentle, very slightly apple like scent (if at all.)
