This had been on my wish list for quite some time. If any of you read my Ginzing Eye Cream review last year (link here) you’ll know I’ve been looking for an everyday eye cream to prevent wrinkles, bags etc, the best way to do this really is to keep your eye area nice and hydrated. It’s been a really harsh winter here in the UK and travelling to and around London every day can take its toll on the skin so keeping your face and body moisturised at all times (especially at winter) is key to keeping your skin healthy all year round.

Im 26. They say you should start wearing eye creams AT LEAST when you turn 25. Did you know that? It’s because scientists and skin experts say that its really only once you get to (on average) 25 years of age, that skin elasticity, collagen production and suppleness start to reduce. Naturally as we age we can expect this but I was shocked when I first heard that this generally starts at 25. I think really since I turned 25 that was the time when I really started taking specific and regimented care of my skin, particularly my face routine day and night. I’d had the Origins eye cream for a while, it’s fantastic for early mornings after a late night out, to brighten the eyes and give you a quick wake me up and “zing” in the mornings but wasnt the everyday cream that I thought I was missing.

I’d done some research and was keen on Bobby’s hydrating cream. There are 2 eye creams out by Bobby Brown, the hydrating eye cream and the eye repair cream. After discussing with the lady on the BB counter, we agreed that for my age (26) the hydrating was the most suitable. Luckily I dont have any wrinkles or other eye issues so really an eye cream for me is still a preventative measure. The repair eye cream, really is for repair. So repair of dark circles, puffiness or wrinkles around the eye. If you’re the same age as me or younger, prevention is better than cure girls. I bought the hydrating cream.

Bobby Brown Hydrating Eye Cream

Bobby describes the cream as;

This quick-absorbing eye cream delivers naturally-occurring humectants that melt into the skin, leaving the eye area soft, smooth and refreshed for up to 24 hours. A perfect level of emollients imparts a lightweight texture, allowing concealer to glide on evenly.

•Aloe Vera and Witch Hazel Extract soothe and comfort.
•Jojoba Seed, Avocado Oil and Squalane condition and revive continuously.

As suggested, I use my ring finger to take a small 5p sized amount and dab the product under each eye. I apply this near the outer corner and underneath the eyes (on the Occibital bone) careful not to keep too close to the eyes. Eye creams generally move around and it’s just good practice to keep product on the bone and not so close that after a while it gets absorbed in to the actual eye. Once on I really gently dab my same ring finger under each eye until the product is fully absorbed, this really doesnt take long, maybe 15 seconds under each eye. It does stay shiny and sort of wet looking (it really isnt wet and runny) but by the time i’ve finished my morning skin care routine the product is completely absorbed and as described “quick absorbing”.

Even after a long day outdoors my skin still feels smooth under my eyes I really love this product and believe in the moisturising properties it has, I cant be without this stuff and a little really goes a long way.

The packaging like all BB skincare products is beautiful. The full size (15ml) cream comes in a glass container with a signature black lid with an engraved BB logo, nice to keep on top of my dressing table. I’ve been using this product for about 2 months now and it looks like I’ve hardly used anything! I’m sure it will last me the whole of 2013 if not longer still.

I bought this cream for £30 from House of Fraser in Oxford Street, London. I believe it’s around the same price still but is widely available on the internet so you may find it cheaper elsewhere.

BB’s Concealer/Corrector

We know Bobby Brown is best known for her make up lines and although I dont wear a full face of make up everyday, this product still stood out to me. For others the Hydrating Eye Cream is the best eye cream to wear under make up, as the finish and smoothness is just so great that it’s perfect, and actually is made for super smooth concealer application that just glides on top of this cream. When I bought this cream I also ended up buying a corrector and concealer kit (shopping addict) from Bobby Brown and must say unlike other concealers that leave me with nasty lines under my eyes after a while, this stuff really doesnt!! Not sure if this is the CC or the cream but they work great together. For those of you who already have a concealer by Bobby Brown or other brands, I would recommend this for you to use prior to any other product or even primer as well as for those of you (like me) who are just looking for an every day eye cream, you will not be disappointed!

Hope this review has been helpful, xx
